It seems like most of the spoils coming out of the entertainment industry as of late have been about Spider-Man, and I'm not talking about the musical. Sony has officially released the name of the reboot to the web-crawler's series. Ready for it?

Back to the original comic book title. Even better than that, 500 Days of Summer director Marc Webb's adaptation is even bringing Peter back to his roots. First, Gwen Stacey was Peter Parker's original love interest for awhile, before the whole Mary Jane thing, and because of that MJ won't be anywhere near this film. Also, in the original comic Parker didn't have the organic web shooters that we saw Tobey Maguire "Shazam"-swinging with. Instead, the boy genius developed mechanical web shooters, and it appears that Andrew Garfield will be sporting those on his new Spidey pajamas. You've got to be getting excited by now. Unfortunately, you're going to have to wait until July 3, 2012 when Spidey will be going up against fellow Marvel superheroes The Avengers as well as a bloody Abraham Lincoln.
