The Week (of 2.20.11)

Week 8 and the end of the second month of 2011 draws near. There's a little bit of something for everyone this week.

Monday and Thursday are as stacked as ever with all new episodes of your favorite shows, and it looks like crunch time is approaching for some as renewal season approaches. For example, Chuck's ratings are strong, but as usual are lacking compared to the rest of NBC's shows (though it leads Monday nights), and Community is falling behind on Thursdays as well. Prepare for the release of two big video games of 2011, the long awaited Bulletstorm and Killzone 3. Both FPSs hit shelves on Tuesday and I couldn't be more excited to finally get my hands on Bulletstorm. There's been lots of controversy recently over the title from Epic Games, but it's mostly unfounded bunk. Lastly, if you're a fan of Nicholas Cage you can go see Drive Angry in theaters on Friday. Or, if you're a psych major with a Blu-ray player, you could always get your hands on the 10th anniversary edition of your favorite film Memento.

Yes, you did read that last title correctly, it is Alien vs. Ninja. Never heard of it? Neither had I until searching YouTube for the trailer. Let's just say it looks like Ninja Gaiden fighting aliens. With a tagline like "They didn't realize the strongest enemy wasn't from Earth" how could you lose? And one final remark for SGU fans, if you weren't already aware, the the back half of the second (and at the moment final season) starts on March 7, moving over to Monday nights and leading into Being Human. What does the change in night mean? I don't really know, and I don't wish to speculate at the moment.

Keep in mind folks, the 1amGeek 'Name that Tune' [Contest] ends this Friday at noon. Enter!

Dream on.
