The gritty animated feature Rango, voiced by Johnny Depp, topped the charts on opening weekend, with two other weekend openers, The Adjustment Bureau with Matt Damon and Emily Blunt coming in second and Beastly starring Vanessa Hudgens and Alex Pettyfile or Pettyfer or whatever his name is from I Am Number Four coming in third. Also, the top three from last [week] were nudged down to 4, 5, and 6 and The King's Speech stayed strong at 7. Note: Take Me Home Tonight, Topher Grace's 80's film came in at 11, sorry Topher, I didn't get around to seeing it yet.

Rango was given 88% by [Rotten Tomatoes], which makes it the closest contender for best movie at the office since The King's Speech's 95%. I personally plan on checking out those top 3 as soon as possible, because the movie theater is about to get even more crowded in the coming weeks with Battle: Los Angeles opening this Friday, Paul a week after that, and Sucker Punch the following week. Get excited. The 2011 Moviegeddon is approaching. Or maybe it should be called Movnarok in honor of Thor?

Dream on.
